When I installed Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala in my Dell laptop, the wireless did not get detected. I searched through the web and found a solution. I did the following things to make wireless in my dell to work.
- Insert Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala cd into your CD ROM
- Goto System->Administration->Software Sources
- Make sure that CD ROM Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala is checked
- Next goto System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager and type "bcmwl" in the search box
- Choose install bcwml-kernel-source and then click apply
- After installation reboot and you are done. Your wireless will be working.
