Most of you might have heard that aspiring minds is conducting CBT(Computer Based Test) for HCL(HCL Hiring Freshers). Am writing this post because when I searched the net for placement sample papers and could not find any ... Some of you will be scheduled for CBT tomorrow . This post might help you a little... CBT is online test only. Its divided into 4 sections(Sorry I dont remember the names) The main area of focus was verbal and non verbal reasoning and aptitude(Sums based on log, ratio(only 4 or 5 problems))...The usual time and distance, boats and streams, problems on ages were not there... Just go through
- statement and conclusion
- Coding and Decoding(ex abc:efg :: lmn: ? or rush is written as blah blah... then how push is written)
- Synonyms
- Antonyms
- Blood relations
- Direction based problems
- Mostly comprehension type questions
- 1 or 2 questions from number series(A passage will be given you have to read and answer it) will do
- Probability (1 or 2 sums)
- Sentence Arrangement
- Correct Sentences by replacing the italicized word with correct word(3 questions)
- No c or c++ or any computer based questions
.. I attended the test today only....and each of the four section has time duration separately(1minute for 1question was the basis for aptitude alone some extra time was provided)

i attended the interview 2day. luk people the confirmation from aspiring minds is must either in the form of mail or msg thro' mobile. its of 107 min test
they are 4 sections
1. english comprehension[25 questions 25 min]
2. logical reasoning[25 questions 35 min]
3. appitude[25 questions 35 min]
4. technical[theory + comprehension[8 questions 12 min]]
just concentrate on
1.english [meanings,opposite alphabetical notation,fill in the blanks,word forming,cases with p,q,r,s,t,u etc]
2.apps[odd man out,probability[mostly],C.I,ages,speed,boat stream etc]
all the sections contains options.
in my question paper they is no program. my nearby frnd has other set of question paper.

Hi friends I have completed the test on feb 15th 2pm batch.
Its clear that there are different question banks
so pattern is same but questions are slightly changed.
I faced the questions as monisha said but there is no boatstream, C.I, for me.
All of them should go through well in Synonyms,Antonyms Error spotting, Logarithm,numbers,Directions,ages,speed all question banks consists these topics for sure.

They said,

We will be explained by a topic which is mostly known to us and we need to discuss the topic in our own words with its pros and cons.

tech gd depends on your luck ..
*They might teach u a concept ( i had an ECE concept - signals ) and ask a number of questions.
Since few of us in the group were from CSE bg they asked us to write a few code snipets where as others as qs on signals.

*They might just give an intro to a concept and ask u to take the disc forward ..

Today i attended GD....Each group has 8 members...Our topic was "Will u chose deadlined projects or never-ending projects?"(A HCL staff took abt 15mins to explain the concept...phew..)...It went smooth...All of us gt the chance to speak...All of em in my panel gt selected for HR....They scheduled to 7.30pm for HR...Because of too many candidates , they scheduled our HR 2mw at 8.30am

i tried to login, but always showing password error. but after being shortlisted from the exam, the number assigned to me was 568. this number must be based on the amcat score i think.

It seems to be approximately 1500 candidates where chosen out of 10k to 12k who appeared for online aptitude test.
The second round was Technical GD. Out of my batch students they split into groups of 10 and each group were seated inside separate conference rooms.
For me, they decided to have a session which was much like 'Listen-Question' session.
There were 3 HR executives in our room,out of which 1 gave a brief intro about a technical topic. I should say that i got lucky with the topic.. It was just the Software Development Life Cycle. It was very basic intro,analysis-->design-->code-->test-->implement. So, it was cake walk for me. 6 out of batch 10 were selected. Later,i came to know that one who gave the intro for our topic was the chief of all the HR executives there. The results were announced in the auditorium aftr half an hour.
My HR round was scheduled at 6.30. So, i had enough time to brush up the technical concepts and i was well prepared. My HR didnt get into technical things itself. He just asked tell about yourself,academic project,work experience. He also asked about the IBM certification that i got and about my technical achievements. I was crystal clear with my answers. Then he went onto talk about service agreement policies of HCL. 18 months bond. Do u wish to sign up. Then, we will place you in any field say Main Frame/JAVA/ORACLE/networks, are you up for it.Then, he also enquired whether i could work anywhere across india and even abroad. I told yes to all.
Finally,he told me that we will mail you regarding further details.I said thanks and came out.

I heard that AMCAT is conducting Assessments in Hyderabad and many placement officers contacted Aspiring Minds Manager who is in Hyderabad Now to get their students assessed..even my placement officer got my whole cmapus included for AMCAT Assessment..
The Manager out there told me that they are moving to many districts for assessing the studnts before they start their campus activity.
Better if you are studying in Hyderabad ask your campus placement officer to be in touch.
